Brisbane City's Most Scenic Spots
Whether it’s a blooming garden-scape or a sky-high view of the river, The City abounds with scenic locales – perfect for a spot of respite or an Insta-worthy snap. From popular locations to not-so-obvious sites, here’s where to find Brisbane City’s best backdrops.
City Botanic Gardens
A park that spans manicured gardens with seasonal blooms, ornamental ponds and native trees, we’re hard pressed to name just one scenic spot in the City Botanic Gardens. But if we had to, it would be the fig trees draped in twinkling fairy lights adjacent to the Goodwill Bridge for a magical moment.

Spectacle Garden at Roma Street Parklands
For swoon-worthy flower arrangements, visit the Spectacle Garden to wander raised and garden flowerbeds in full bloom all-year round. The seasonal displays of eye-catching colour include flowers, herbs and artworks.
King Edward Park
A green rectangle between Turbot Street and Wickham Terrace, King Edward Park is a historic terraced park surrounded by skyscrapers. With the iconic red Jacobs Ladder steps cutting a swathe through the greenery, it’s a scenic urban retreat.

For peace and solitude – and to soak up those glorious midday rays – Anzac Square has been a fave picnic spot for city workers for the past 80 years. We love the manicured lawns and flower beds that frame this formal garden.
Post Office Square
Close to plenty of food options, the inviting green grass of Post Office Square is another ideal spot for a lunchtime picnic in the sunshine. Stake your piece of turf and enjoy the sights and sounds of The City as you snack.
Coffee Iconic Cafe Garden
A hidden garden eatery tucked behind nondescript double doors on George Street, Coffee Iconic offers respite from The City’s ebb and flow. The tranquil outdoors oasis resembles a Zen garden with pavers and stones amid serene greenery. Retreat here to soak up the ambience and rustic surrounds with a latte or light meal.
Felons Brewing Co
One of our fave spots for a brew with a view is Felons Brewing Co at Howard Smith Wharves. Right under the Story Bridge with views of Kangaroo Point, it’s stunning on a sun-drenched afternoon or lit up at night.
Blackbird Bar & Grill
With enviable 180-degree views of the Brisbane River, Kangaroo Point cliffs and Story Bridge, Blackbird Bar & Grill at Eagle Street Pier offer the ideal vantage point of some of The City’s best assets.
16 Antlers Rooftop Bar
On level 16 of the Pullman & Mercure Brisbane King George Square hotel, 16 Antlers is currently Brisbane City’s highest rooftop bar. Head here for elevated alfresco views by day and a dazzlingly vibrant outlook at night.
WET Deck at W Brisbane
If there’s anything we love more than Brisbane River and South Bank views, it’s a sweeping vista of the two icons from the vantage point of a pool. The WET Deck is Brisbane’s resort-style retreat above the river with graphic monochromatic shapes framing a heated pool and lounges. We’ll see you poolside with a cocktail…
