The city:
Healthy eating

18 JANUARY 2023

Everyone loves a cheat day, but it’s no surprise that we feel best after a fresh and healthy feast. From organic chocolate and freshly squeezed fruit juices to acai bowls and salads, eating healthily and nourishing your body has never been so easy thanks to these healthy eateries in The City.

Cheeky Poke Bar, Ulster Lane

Head to Hawaiian-inspired hotspot Cheeky Poke Bar for nourishing nosh such as the signature poke bowls and soups. Top it off with a sparkling kombucha or cold pressed juice. Nom!

Comuna Cantina, Creek St

Swing by ultra-cool Comuna Cantina for Latin-inspired street eats surrounded by pink terrazzo and prickly cacti. Don’t let yourself be swayed by the nachos and churros – it’s the bowls, salads and tacos that will leave you feeling light. Our top picks are the goddess salad and the chargrilled chicken taco.

Felix for Goodness, Burnett Lane

Nestled along Burnett Lane, Felix for Goodness serves up a wholesome menu using fresh, organic, and local ingredients. Venture inside the light-filled space and enjoy freshly baked sweet treats, falafels, frittatas and the house favourite, the Felix bowl.

You can choose from scrumptious salads, burgers, bakes, curries and more. If your sweet tooth is calling, add one of their plant-based desserts.

Nodo, Elizabeth St

Coeliacs can breathe a sigh of relief – literally everything at Nodo is gluten free. But non-coeliacs fear not; the food here is no less tasty than the gluten-laden bites you’re used to. This grab-and-go spot has a small but flavour-packed quick eats menu. Pair it with one of their famous donuts or specialty shakes.

Grazegrind, Post Office Square

Stocking up on a healthy breakfast or lunch is super easy at Brisbane City Grazegrind. From wholesome warm bowls to quality coffee and loaded smoothies, your healthy cravings will be met. In a rush? Grab a breakfast pot, wrap, baguette or salad, all made fresh daily.

Rounding up our top tips for healthy hunger busters is sushi. You can’t beat sushi for something quick, easy and healthy. Some of our favourites are Sushi Edo on Elizabth St, Ichiban Sushi upstairs in Tattersall’s Arcade, and Izakaya Kotobuki on George St. These spots prepare their sushi fresh from high quality ingredients and offer both sit down and takeaway options.
