Late Night Eats in The City - Visit Brisbane

Late Night Dining in Brisbane City

Hungry and it’s late in the evening or the wee hours of the morning? Maybe it’s a post-party craving, an after-cinema snack or a super late-night dinner. Either way, if you feel your stomach rumbling don't worry you're not destined for fast-food and greasy kebabs. For the best late-night dining spots in Brisbane, the CBD is the place to find after-hours food you won’t regret eating.

We’ve split the list into late dinners where you can get a proper sit-down meal, and super late-night feeds for those 2am snacking needs.

Late-night dining

Brisbane is a city of early risers, so many out-of-towners find it hard to believe most restaurants close the kitchens by 9pm. If you get caught out, here are a few that keep the burners on until 10 or 11pm, especially towards the weekend. Further down are the post-midnight feeds and 24/7 dining spots.

Caviar, oysters and steak: Blackbird, Eagle Street Pier

Blackbird Brisbane City

Knock back shellfish platter, dozen oysters or tin of caviar while you wait for your dry-aged steak to be finished on the kitchen’s one-of-a-kind Infierno 96 wood-fired grill. An equally opulent dining room with sweeping 180-degree of the Brisbane River, Story Bridge and Kangaroo Point Cliffs is the perfect backdrop.

Kitchen open until 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday, until 9.30pm Tuesday to Thursday, and 9pm Sunday and Monday.

Dive bar snacks: Brew, Burnett Lane

Brew Cafe and Wine Bar

Brew is one of Brisbane's coolest laneway venues. The unpolished, dimly lit basement and former car park is the place to enjoy truffle fries or cheese boards while catching up with friends or listen to late-night live bands with a drink in hand.

Kitchen hours until 10pm Thursday-Saturday, until 8pm other nights.

Steak: Cha Cha Char, Eagle St Pier

Cha Cha Char

If you’re hankering for a late-night steak, Cha Cha Char’s kitchen will serve you until 11pm every night of the week. The riverside steakhouse’s menu is detailed – each steak has a profile about the breed, paddock address, age and tasting notes.

Until 11pm daily, guaranteed.

Pizza and Italian snacks: Coppa Spuntino, Creek St

Coppa Spuntino on Creek St is an authentic Italian pizza joint and a chic charcuterie wine bar. It's a perfect spot to either gather a group of mates and order some wood-fired pizzettas or a few spuntino (share plates) to split with your special someone. An added bonus is that after you fill your belly on delicious Italian fare, local favourite speakeasy The Gresham is just around the corner.

Monday-Wednesday: 9pm
Thursday: 11pm
Friday: 12am

Vietnamese: Fat Noodle, Treasury Casino & Hotel

Pho at Fat Noodle

Award-winning celebrity chef Luke Nguyen's 100-seater Fat Noodle serves pan-Asian hawker-style food, including Nguyen’s own Vietnamese, as well as Chinese, Thai and Malaysian cuisine. Stop in for some late night duck wraps or some of the best spring rolls you've ever eaten. A steaming bowl of hot pho is the perfect end to any cool night.

Open until 10pm Sunday-Thursday; until 11pm Friday-Saturday.

French bistro snacks: Greenglass

French food and all-Aussie boutique wines combine at this upstairs gem. Dinner service finishes at 9pm, but the snack game keeps kicking on until 11pm on Friday night (and some other nights). And by snacks we mean French cheese, fresh oysters, saucisson, beef tartare and more much.
