What’s on in The City this November

Things are definitely warming up in The City with a host of events, new shops and restaurant debuts to tempt you to get out and about this month. From markets to free street art, new coffee haunts to alfresco movies, here’s what’s happening in Brisbane City in November.

From art on the streets to indoors, here’s where to gain a different cultural perspective in Brisbane City this month.

RAZZLE DAZZLE – Outdoor Gallery

Peep the textures, colours and designs inspiring the free RAZZLE DAZZLE – Outdoor Gallery exhibition curated by McCarthy Swann Projects. Visit the lightboxes, banners, vitrines and evening projections in City laneways and streets before it ends on 22 November.

Bauhaus NOW

Get an art history lesson at Museum of Brisbane with the free Bauhaus Now exhibition about the legacy of migration and the modernism movement in Brisbane. Spanning art, design and architecture, book online to immerse yourself in the vibrant experience.

Meeanjin Online

Meeanjin Markets, a curated artisan showcase of authentic Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts, crafts and experiences, moves online for a 27 November event. Join Meeanjin Online via Facebook Live for music and festive stalls.

Outdoor events

Soak up the sun or settle in the shade with free fitness sessions and alfresco music events in The City’s green spaces.

Gigs & Picnics

Bring the snacks and City Botanic Gardens will provide a feast of food trucks and tunes on the fourth Saturday of every month from 12pm to 4pm. Order a picnic basket in advance for a chilled get-together in the park. 

Medibank Feel Good Program

Until 28 November, engage your core and your best fitness pals with a free session of yoga or Pilates in The City. Head to the Queens Gardens near Treasury Casino to join the Medibank Feel Good classes on Tuesday to Thursday from 5:30pm to 6:15pm.

Tempt your taste buds with the latest food and beverage offerings in The City. From a quick bite to a night out, here’s what’s new in Brisbane City.

Will & Flow

Treasury Brisbane launches its newest venture this month – Will & Flow at Queen’s Wharf Brisbane. The overwater bar and eatery will be the first venue outside the heritage Treasury buildings and promises a new summer experience in The City.

Industry Beans 

Melbourne coffee purveyors Industry Beans has set up its second Brisbane outpost on Adelaide Street. The grab-and-go cafe has the signature Industry Beans coffee menu plus pastries, treats and products.  

Naga Thai

With the sweet-sour-salty-savoury hallmarks of Thai cuisine, head chef Suwisa Phoonsang brings a regional restaurant menu with bold flair to Eagle Street Pier. Enjoy views of the Brisbane River with delicious dishes and cocktails amid vibrant design by Anna Spiro.

Ramen Danbo

With its first ramen shop opening in Japan in 2000, Ramen Danbo is now in more than 35 locations worldwide. New to Brisbane City, visit Ramen Danbo on Wharf Street for the signature tonkatsu broth – a must for ramen aficionados.

Jocelyn’s Provisions

No more schlepping, City folk can now cake it away from Jocelyn’s Provisions newest outlet on Eagle Street. Sweet or savoury, for breakfast, lunch and dinner and everything in-between, all your fave treats and meals are now available in The City.

Boom Boom Room Izakaya

Newly opened Boom Boom Room Izakaya is a reimagined Japanese-style restaurant and bar that takes over from the Boom Boom Room cocktail bar under Donna Chang’s. There’s plenty of Japanese-inspired eats to share and stunning cocktails still on offer.

SFH Designs Pop-Up

Bling up your wardrobe at the SFH Designs Pop-Up at Brisbane Quarter. Until 14 November, bring your denim jacket to the Embellishment Bar from 12pm to 4pm have it personalised with sequins in store.

Gucci

Adding to Brisbane’s luxury retail precinct, Gucci is the latest couture house to make its home on the Queen Street Mall. Keep an eye out for the fancy fitout when the covetable Italian brand lands in QueensPlaza soon.

Brisbane City Markets

Head to Reddacliff Place every Wednesday to browse 85 stalls with farm-fresh produce, baked bread, gourmet provisions and artisan goods. Brisbane City Markets is on from 8am to 4pm for all your foodie finds.

Riverside Markets at the Gardens

On every Sunday from 8am to 3pm, the City Botanic Gardens hosts Riverside Markets with an array of artisan goods, fashion finds and food and beverage options from around the world. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the stalls at these dog-friendly markets.
