Museum of Brisbane
11 Dec, 2019 - 1 Mar, 2020
This exhibition at Museum of Brisbane showcases a selection of Lloyd Rees’ earliest recorded sketches, celebrating his skilful draughtsmanship and interest in capturing Brisbane’s diverse architecture.
One of Australia’s leading 20th century artists, Lloyd was greatly inspired by European architecture, an interest which infuses many of his drawings.
The artworks encourage us to view our city through the lens of romanticism and escape.
